Krystle Lopez, LPC, LMHC, MS
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Georgia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Florida, specializing in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy -- providing virtual counseling to families in both states to help strengthen parent-child relationships, while addressing emotional and behavioral challenges. I have a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Child Development and Psychology. I worked as a trauma-informed therapist utilizing Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP), an evidence based therapeutic approach to help parents with children that have experienced trauma. I worked closely with the parent and child to help strengthen the parent-child relationship that was impacted by the trauma and/or traumatic event(s).
I currently work with parents and families through Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), PCIT CALM for children with anxiety, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for older children and adults.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working with children and families, and I have seen firsthand how rewarding and challenging parenting can be. As a licensed professional counselor specializing in Early Childhood Development, attachment theory, and Infant Mental Health, I’ve had the opportunity to support families through a variety of therapeutic approaches.
I am proud to specialize in Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT) because of the profound and lasting impact it has on strengthening the parent-child relationship and improving a child’s behavior. I’m excited to offer this evidence-based therapy as one of the services in my practice and look forward to helping families build stronger, more positive connections.

Parent-Child Interactive Therapy
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy is an evidence-based treatment designed to strengthen the parent-child relationship and improve behavior in young children ages 2–7. In PCIT, parents learn specific skills to manage tantrums, defiance, and aggression while increasing positive communication, confidence, and connection.
Therapists coach parents in real time during play sessions with their child, helping them practice new strategies and see progress quickly. Research shows PCIT effectively reduces disruptive behaviors, decreases parenting stress, and fosters calmer, more positive interactions at home.
Most families start noticing positive changes within the first few weeks of PCIT. On average, PCIT takes about 12–20 sessions, though every child and family moves at their own pace. Our goal is to empower parents with the skills they need, helping them feel confident, connected, and equipped with tools that create lasting positive change at home.
A compassionate approach
It is essential that our clients feel that we are a good fit. Before our first session, we encourage parents to schedule a free 15 minute consultation.

Parenting Support & Behavior Problems
Behavior problems in early childhood are common and can be challenging to deal with. Emotional outbursts, tantrums, and defiance can be difficult to manage. Through therapy and parenting support we can help provide families with the tools they need to help decrease these unwanted behaviors.
